Good morning, Lovelies!
The first week of April was an amazing one. I have nothing to complain about.
Let’s end last month with no regrets and start this month with nothing but hope and excitement. We started with the kids going to their first dental appointment here in town. We loved our previous dentist in our last town. We were traveling back and forth for some time until we were able to find a Dentist that would fit our families needs here in our new location. And boy did they NOT disappoint.
Zorin woke up in such a great mood and was excited to get out of the house early. I have to sometimes remember that it’s okay to go against my schedule so that the kids can get some fresh air. Getting out of the house for any reason is always good. Especially, when we’ve been cooped in for a while.

The children were seen for about 2 hours. Everything happened very quickly. We ended up staying an additional 30 minutes when we found out that Zuri would be needing braces. I walked into this appointment knowing that he would be needing braces but I wasn’t expecting that they would move so quickly at this particular appointment. You see, I thought we would have more time to get it done, but quickly realized that we can no longer wait to get this done. He’ll be 14 in a few months, so now is probably the best time.

If you’re not aware, last year I opened a Mom/Homemaker boutique. And after a few short months, I quickly realized that it was way too much for me to handle my own. With my husband’s promotion, and him working outside of the home more, and with me trying to manage everything else, the boutique continued to take a back seat. I began to pray about it and after a few months, I decided to cut my losses and let it go. Since then, I’ve been selling my inventory to make some extra money… and to also declutter our home. You can find the inventory in my Poshmark closet. If you’re a mom who would like to make some additional money at home for free, consider joining Poshmark. It’s an amazing platform.

We’ve been diligent with trying to keep the front yard tidy outside of our bi-weekly maintenance of mowing and edging. We try to keep the space right in front of the yard clear, but there is a space just to the right of the house is where we find all the wildlife. The kids saw AND stepped on a snake, then we saw this cute little turtle making his way across the front lawn trying to get to the other side just before it began to rain.
Sunday

On Sunday, we went to church and it was such a good service. The sermon was about The Body of Christ being the salt (light) of this world. The main question was “When Jesus left this world, who was going to be the light of this world?” That question made me think about my part in the Body of Christ. I know that I’m just one person but I’d like to think that each day when I wake up, I’m making a difference. To treat people with love and respect. My heart is to honor God first and foremost.
After church, I celebrated a dear friends birthday. We all met up at an amazing authentic Mexican restaurant. The food was so delicious that I’d like to take Hubby there on our next date night out.

We started a new week on spring break but didn’t do much of anything because of all the rain. For the entire week, I gave myself permission to just relax, connect with my family. I also took a few days to just focus on my spiritual journey. God is so amazing! I made a post sharing my weight loss win (something I never do) because I’m learning how to celebrate me in a more healthy way.

Being the best and healthiest version of myself is so important. I’ve gone from a size 18/20 to a size 14/16. I am more mindful of what I’m eating and drinking and that alone helps me so much. I pray that I can continue with this momentum of eating healthier, smaller portions and walking at least 30 minutes a day. I’ve been finding great meals online that are low carb and also gluten free.

During the week, I ran a ton of different errands and wanted to really do something with the kids. So each day, I picked one thing they’d like and enjoy. Didn’t matter what that one thing was. One of our favorite places to go for coffee, donuts and smoothies is Donut Kingdom. It’s so funny that even Zorin knows this place by name. He cried and begged to get donuts. At first, I was standing my ground with saying no but I soon gave in and took him. And boy was he happy!

Friday

On Friday, we were finally able to get out for a few hours. The sun was bright and we had nothing to do but spend our day together. We went to Moccasin Grove to pick strawberries and we loved every minute of it.
The small bins were $5 each and the large bins were $8. We tried our best to fill them up but I just couldn’t do it.

Thankfully, Zaedrin was able to them filled for us. We treated ourselves to strawberry sherbet ice cream while we were there but Zorin had a fever and runny nose. I had to come straight home to treat him.
So we’ve come to the end of our week and I hope that you enjoyed this recap.
I hope that you have a great week!
Here are a few questions for you:
1) Have you ever been to a u-pick farm?
2) How often do you work out?
3) Did you attend Resurrection Service on Sunday?
